Exploring a New Opportunity in Beaumont
We are excited and honoured to share a unique opportunity for Central to consider starting a new location in the city of Beaumont. This potential site aligns with our church’s calling to start new churches and expand God’s Kingdom in our region. Beaumont is strategically located near two of our existing sites (15 minutes from Southeast, 25 minutes from Sherwood Park), making this an exciting expression of our vision to reach more communities.
God has graciously opened this door, providing four acres of land and some seed funds that could be used to establish a new church. These resources, currently held by the Alberta Baptist Association (our family of churches), will be entrusted to Central if, after a period of prayerful discernment, we sense the Lord leading us to move forward.

This land carries a rich legacy—it was originally purchased by Harvest Community Church, an ABA congregation that faithfully served Beaumont for 20 years. When they closed their doors in 2017, they gave the land to the ABA, with the hope it would one day be used for a future church plant. Over the coming months, our discernment team, comprised of trusted leaders from Central, will seek God’s direction through both spiritual preparation and practical research. This process will include prayerfully evaluating the need for a new church in Beaumont, exploring potential involvement from our congregation, and considering other key factors.
Our discernment team is Allyson Bonkowski, Aaron Giebelhaus, Lavern Liske, Sheri Scheel, Brett Taylor and Jeremy Putz (Lead Pastor).
If we sense the Lord leading us to take this step, we will bring the decision to a congregational vote before moving forward, likely spring 2025. In the meantime, we invite our entire church family to join us in prayer. You can also stay informed by checking back here—we’ll update this page as new details become available.
If you feel you’re hearing anything from the Lord about this opportunity, please use the “Share What You’re Hearing” button to let us know.

Thank you for joining us in seeking God’s direction as we explore this opportunity and continue to follow Jesus together.
