January 21-28, 2024 is prayer week at Central! As a church, we want to set this week in January apart as a special time to pray, fast and lean into the Lord in a focused way—to share with Jesus what is on our hearts, and to hear from him what he would like to say.
This week will include a variety of ways to press in personally, as a household, in GROUPS, and other events. During this week, we encourage all ministries and GROUPS at Central to pause regular events and join in with the different ways we gather together.
The goal is that we could hear God's voice together and prepare ourselves to respond to ways that he's calling us forward as individuals and as a church. We invite you to prepare your heart and, as God leads, adjust your schedule to make prayer a greater priority during this week!
PRAYER WEEK SCHEDULE
Monday: Kickoff Worship & Prayer
LOCATION: Connors Hill
TIME: 700 - 815pm
Prayer ministry available afterwards
Join us on Monday as we kick off Prayer Week. This evening will begin with a time of worship, then our Lead Pastor, Jeremy, will guide us through a special evening focused on hearing Jesus speak into our lives personally and as a church community. Following the event, our prayer ministry team will be available to pray for healing and breakthrough in any area of your life. Let's come together to set the tone for a week of seeking God's voice and direction.
Tuesday: Pizza & Prayer (All Ages, All Sites)
LOCATION: All Sites
TIME: 530-700pm
Don't miss out on Tuesday night's special gathering! Enjoy delicious pizza as our kids ministry staff shares practical teaching on praying with kids. Whether you're a parent, a grandparent, or just someone with a heart for the next generation, come and learn how to pray together in meaningful ways. This unique evening promises to be both educational and delicious. RSVP to secure your spot!
We will be accepting donations to help cover the cost of the pizza with a suggested donation of $20/family, $10/couple and $5/individual (cash, cheque, or Interac e-Transfer to give@followingtogether.com noting "pizza" in the message). However, please do not let cost keep you from coming!
Wednesday: Men, Women, and Youth Prayer Night
LOCATION: Connors Hill
TIME: Men & Women 700-815pm; Youth 700-900pm
Join us on Wednesday as we gather in separate rooms – men, women, and youth – for a powerful night of prayer. This is an opportunity for each group to dive into areas uniquely suited to them, creating a space for connection, support, and spiritual growth. All youth (grades 7-12) are invited to join this special night, while men and women can pray into specific needs within their respective communities. It's a night to care for one another and experience the strength found in collective prayer.
Thursday: Beyond our Walls (All Sites)
LOCATION: All Sites
TIME: 700-815pm
On Thursday, we'll meet at each of our three sites for a night of outward-focused prayer. Join us as we lift up our friends and family who don't know Jesus, pray for the impact of our sites in the surrounding neighbourhoods, and intercede for our supported missionaries serving both locally and around the world. Let's come together and make a difference beyond the walls of our church.
Friday: Worship Night
LOCATION: Connors Hill
TIME: 700-900pm
Prayer ministry available afterwards
Friday is a night of extended worship and prayer, where we gather as a full church community to glorify God. Experience the transformative power of worship and create space for the Spirit to move as we lift our voices together. Following the event, our prayer ministry team will be available for anyone seeking prayer for healing or breakthrough. It's a night to deepen our connection with God and one another, and respond to his call in our lives to share his love with others.
Saturday: Communion & Community
LOCATION: Connors Hill (Gym)
TIME: 430-600pm
Please bring food to share
Join us on Saturday for a powerful wrap-up to Prayer Week. We'll celebrate communion together, reflecting on the week's journey, and then share a potluck meal as a community. It's a wonderful opportunity to hear stories of what God has done among us, enjoy each other's company, and wrap up this amazing week in the warmth of community. Come, bring some food to share, and let’s celebrate together!
