What stands out to you from this passage? How does this passage most challenge or encourage you?
Read the story of the Rich Man and Lazarus from Luke 16:19-31. What elements of this story overlap with the reaction of the people to Jesus in today’s passage? What do you find the most tragic about this Luke passage?
The worldly view of salvation and eternity is often in conflict with Jesus’ teachings. Today’s passage from John 12 emphasizes the reality of a final judgment that will one day be initiated by God. What part(s) of this eternal reality do you most often see our world’s teaching in conflict against?
Scripture testifies that belief in Jesus leads to both eternal security as well as true life and spiritual freedom today. How should the promise of eternity affect your decisions and values today?
