Discussion
What stands out to you from this passage? How does this passage most challenge or encourage you?
John 17:1-3 says that eternal life is knowing God and Jesus Christ. How do you understand "knowing" in this context? Is it just intellectual knowledge, or is it something deeper?
Jesus prays for unity in the body of believers. How do you see this unity being threatened in the early church and today? What role does truth play in this unity?
Jesus’ prayer for unity among believers seems counter to the individualistic nature of modern society. How do you think Canadian culture, which values independence, might wrestle with the concept of being "one" in Christ?
The idea of being sent into the world while being kept from evil (John 17:15) seems like a tension between engaging the culture and remaining holy. How can Christians live in the world without becoming too influenced by it?
