We are excited to announce that we are recommending Tomas Belchior for the position of Connors Hill Site Pastor.
He will be at Connors Hill on Sunday, September 17th and will be preaching that morning (with the sermon being streamed to Southeast and Sherwood Park).
After the 11am service, we’ll have a pizza lunch together during which Jeremy will interview Tomas & Katherine, giving you a chance to hear more of their story and heart for ministry.
Please RSVP for the lunch below so we can plan well. We will be accepting donations to help cover the cost of the lunch with a suggested donation of $20/family, $10/couple and $5/individual. However, please do not let cost keep you from coming!
We also invite you to prayerfully take part in a congregational vote of affirmation. If you need a physical ballot, please contact the church office or pick one up at church on September 17th. We encourage you to be a part of this important process, and please be praying in advance!
Tomas is married to Katherine, and they have three kids: Joshua (14), Julia (11), and Isabelle (8).
Tomas gave his life to Jesus in grade ten and later studied at Vanguard Bible College where he met Katherine. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Theological Studies in 2007. He spent the next seven years as the Youth and Young Adults Pastor at Living Stones Church in Red Deer before returning to Edmonton to serve as the Lead Young Adults Pastor for The Project (Hope City Church). During this season, he also sat on Hope City’s Lead Team. In 2021, he became the Online Campus Pastor and then later took on leadership of the youth department across Hope City’s campuses.
Tomas is a gifted shepherd, communicator, and team leader, and we believe his calling and experience have uniquely prepared him for this key role at Central.
More on the Search Process. We want to thank the Interview Team for their faithful service throughout this process. The members of the team were JoAnne McRae, Mike Hamilton, Stephanie Dalmer, and Allyson Bonkowski, along with Jeremy and Jon as staff members. Leading up to this recommendation, Tomas has interacted with the Interview Team and the staff Lead Team. We’ve conducted reference checks, had Tomas complete some assessments, and had many additional conversations with him along the way. As we developed a growing understanding of his character, calling, theological perspectives, gifting, and fit for Central, we became confident that the Lord was leading us to extend this invitation to him to serve as the next Connors Hill Site Pastor.
