TEACHING RECAP

Summary: Waiting is a normal, albeit frustrating, human experience, especially when we’re waiting on God to come through. God’s promise is that He hears us and will answer us but what we do in the waiting is an important piece to encountering God.

Main Points:

  • We should find ourselves doing the next, right thing.

  • We should find ourselves with one another.

  • We should find ourselves among our neighbour.

Discussion

  • What stands out to you from this passage? How does this passage most challenge or encourage you?

  • Name a number of Biblical stories about waiting. What sorts of principles can you mine out of these stories?

  • Tomas cited research that relationships are the most important factor contributing to our sense of well-being. When you look at our world today, how do you think busyness interacts with people’s longing for deep relationships?

  • When you find yourself waiting on God, what are some things that you have found helpful?

  • Where do you have opportunities to walk with and help others in your life right now?

  • How do you want to respond to this passage in your daily life?

PRAYER

  • How can we pray for you as a group? Are there any significant areas where you find yourself waiting on God right now that we can pray for?

  • NEXT WEEK: 2 Corinthians 5:11-6:2
